Deer Hunting Big Bucks Buddies
It was a cold November afternoon. I had gotten home from work and decided to do an evening hunt in the backyard. I made my way down the trail and back up the ridge to the pasture. I cut across to a logging road in some thick hardwood pine mixture of trees, where I had seen plenty of fresh deer sign. And some rubs from some big bucks. I got settled in and waited. Then I heard something coming towards me. I saw orange. It was my buddy Mark. He had decided to hunt that evening, but didn’t know I was too. He had the same spot in mind as me. He came over and we talked a while. I told him I had seen a nice buck on the property the week before. He then walked off to another spot. As it was starting to get dark, then I heard him shoot. I made my way over to him. He said he had shot a really nice buck. When we got down to the deer it was a nice one. It was Mark’s biggest ever! We went and got him and took him to my house and made some pictures. We then took him to the processor and showed him off. Although Mark and I don’t get to see each other much, we have memories of hunting together that I know we will never forget. So, if you have a chance to take a friend or a child hunting-do it! You will make memories that will last a lifetime.

great story! rarely do I hunt by myself. It just seems to be that much better to share the experience with a hunting buddy. I’m working on turning my son into one of my hunting buddies, and he is making great progress!
Thanks Kris! I have a two year old son and a six month old son and I hope to be able to take them deer hunting one day.I think it is important to get children involved in the great outdoors.
