Deer Hunting Big Bucks Moving To Kansas

I just wanted to let everyone know why I haven’t been posting lately. Last week I received a job transfer offer in Kansas. Considering I have been layed off since they closed the plant I worked for back in September I quickly accepted the offer and must report to work in Kansas on August 10th. We have been packing and had a moving sell, so needless to say it has been a crazy week and a half. I don’t know when I will have a place and be able to get the internet and so forth so it may be a while until I am able to start posting again. I am looking foward to deer hunting in Kansas and I hear there are some really big bucks there. I must admit that I am a little scared about the whole situation. I have lived in Georgia all of my life except when I was in the service, so packing up my family and moving to Kansas in a  three week period is a big step for us. I will try to start posting again as soon as possible and until that time take care everyone. Deer season will be here before you know it, big buck country here I come!

  1. In this economy I surely don’t blame you for moving to where the jobs are; and if said job just happens to be in one of the whitetail capitals of the world, then so be it.

I hope everything works smoothly for you and your family, and I hope to see a picture of a giant Kansas whitetail in the near future.

  2. So sorry to hear that you lost your job and moving…but sometimes change is good and I hope that this move will open a new door for you and your family. Good Luck and I look forward to reading about your hunting adventures. You take care and try to stay positive. Everything will be OK!
    :)

  3. I think you will find that Kansas is a whole lot different then Georgia…..I have lived in Kansas most my life, but did go to college in Georgia. The only reason I moved back to Kansas is for the awesome hunting! Its not rare to see 170+ class bucks on a weekly basis. The deer here are very callable and aggressive during the rut. Don’t waste your money on leases or hunting packages, most residents here hate the guys that do that. There is a huge amount of public hunting land that the state of Kansas leases from local farmers…with a little scouting you can find multiple big buck plots to hunt for free. Here is a link to the Kansas wildlife site..http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/….this site is very useful. Just type in WIHA and it will give you maps for all the hunting spots. Good luck hunting and enjoy the beautiful prairie!

  4. Sorry you had to relocate but with a family, you do what you have to do. I wish you the best in the move and for the season ahead.

  5. I hope you find your move to Kansas a wonderful experience. I’m a Kansas boy, and miss hunting there like I did for so many years.

Keep us posted on how things are going, and thanks for the great site.
