Well I have been out looking for the buck we shot back in November and I have walked and walked and there is no sign of the big buck. I have walked all the deer hunting property that I have permission to hunt on and all the surrounding property that I have permission to look on as well and I don’t know how many miles I have walked in the last few weeks. I still am not giving up hope though of somehow finding this big whitetail. Being a gut shot we think the coyotes could have ran him a long way, so there is no telling where he is at. I believe in my heart he is dead it’s just a matter of where he is. I haven’t been able to find any sheds either, I thought I would have found one by now. I did find a small four pointer still on the skull but that’s it. The big bucks should be shedding really soon if not already. I have seen some really nice sheds that have already been found here in Kansas and I have heard other reports in other states as well of big sheds being found. So get out there and do some shed hunting and find those big boys sheds and get a little exercise. It is addicting and finding a big rack is well worth all the walking.
