<p>I think <a title="Deer Season Over And Now Is The Time To Get Ready For Deer Hunting Big Bucks" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2009/01/21" target="_blank">deer season</a> is just about over everywhere. I wanted to get some feedback on how all of you did this year. Did you get that big <a title="Deer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer" target="_blank"><strong>deer</strong></a>?</p>
<p>My <a title="Deer Season Over And Now Is The Time To Get Ready For Deer Hunting Big Bucks" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2009/01/21" target="_blank">deer season</a> started off seeing quite a few <a title="My Favorite Pictures Of Deer Hunting 2008" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/12/28" target="_blank">deer</a> in Georgia during bow season, but I just wasn&#8217;t seeing any <a title="Good Deer Hunting Footage But Big Bucks Laying Low" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/12/09" target="_self"><strong>big bucks</strong></a>. I saw several small bucks and a ton of does. I wanted to shoot a doe with my bow but I kept holding off in hopes of getting a shot at a <a title="Down South Hunting Trophy Bucks Action Packed When Big Bucks Rut" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/12/20" target="_blank"><strong>trophy buck</strong></a> that we had on <a title="Big Buck Trail Camera Photos" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/07/13" target="_blank"><strong>trail camera</strong></a>. But I never saw him. My dad saw him one time just before dark just for a second, and he was gone. As it got closer to the rut I hunted hard and kept thinking I might see some <a title="Big Bucks On The Move As Whitetail Rut In Mississippi" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2009/01/16" target="_blank">big bucks</a>. I was seeing a lot of nice rubs and scrapes but no big boys.</p>
<p>November 1st rolled around and some friends and I headed to the heart of monster buck country to do some <a title="PIKELAND OUTFITTERS - Bowhunting for Trophy Whitetails in Pike County Illinois" href="http://www.pikeland.com/" target="_blank"><strong>bow hunting in Illinois</strong></a>.</p>
<div class="wp-caption alignright" style="width: 247px"><img title="Bow Hunting in Illinois" src="http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg114/whitetail0403/101_2277-1-2.gif" alt="Bow hunting in Illinois can make a deer hunting dreams come true." width="237" height="317" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Bow hunting in Illinois can make a deer hunting dreams come true.</p></div>
<p>If you have never been <a title="My First Illinois Bowhunting Trip a Success" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/11/09" target="_blank">bow hunting in Illinois</a>, I highly reccomend it. We arrived on the first of November and were greeted by unseasonably warm tempatures. We hunted very hard for the whole week and saw a lot of <a title="Whitetail Deer Rut In Big Deer Texas" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/11/26" target="_blank"><strong>whitetails</strong></a> and several smaller bucks chasing does, but the <a title="Deer Hunting Kentucky Big Bucks Supplies Hunting Dreams" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/11/25" target="_blank">big bucks</a> were laying low. We ended up extending the trip for a couple of days because we knew there was a cold front moving in. On the last morning of our trip I was able to rattle in a very nice 125&#8243; class 10 pointer and was able to put the smack down on him at thirty yards and right then and there I fell in love with <a title="My First Illinois Bowhunting Trip a Success" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/12/09" target="_blank">bow hunting in Illinois</a>.</p>
<p>So that made my season a great one. While we were in Illinois we got reports from Georgia that the big boys were chasing like crazy and in full rut. By the time we got back home the rut was almost over. So if we hadn&#8217;t gone to the mid-west who knows maybe I would have been able to get a shot at the <a title="Potential World Record Deer Falls Short After 60 Day Drying Period" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2009/01/02" target="_blank"><strong>trophy whitetail</strong></a> that we had on trail camera, but then again you never know.</p>
<p>Let me know how you did this year. Did you get that <a title="Deer Hunting World Record Deer Big Bucks" href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/11/30" target="_blank">trophy whitetail</a>? I hope you all had a great year. I had one that I won&#8217;t soon forget.</p>
<p>Take the poll and let me know how you did.</p>
<ol>
<li>Poor, didn&#8217;t see many deer</li>
<li>Okay, saw a few deer and some small bucks</li>
<li>Good, shot a doe and some smaller bucks</li>
<li>Great, shot a nice buck</li>
<li>Excellent, shot a Pope and Young  or a Boone and Crockett</li>
</ol>

Here in Georgia our bow season starts in early September and runs until mid to late October when rifle season starts. Primitive weapons is the second week of October and it is for a week. I know for me personally it seemed as if <strong><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks">deer</a></strong> season was over in a flash this year. I have a two year old son and a seven month old son, plus we are working a lot of overtime at work. So my </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">deer</font></a><font color="#000000"> season consisted of about four full days of </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><strong><font color="#000000">hunting</font></strong></a><font color="#000000"> this year all together. I did see two nice </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><strong><font color="#000000">big bucks</font></strong></a><font color="#000000"> though. And I saw </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">deer</font></a><font color="#000000"> almost every time I went </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">hunting</font></a><font color="#000000">. I think the </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">deer hunting</font></a><font color="#000000"> season in Georgia is really set up pretty good. We have a nice long bow season and a week long primitive weapons season. Rifle season is from about the third week of October, until January 1st in the Northern zone and about a week longer in the southern zone. How about the </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">deer hunting</font></a><font color="#000000"> season where you live? I am facing a possible transfer out of Georgia and I wanted to see what some other people thought about the length of the </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">deer hunting</font></a><font color="#000000"> season in their state. I looked at a couple of states </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">hunting</font></a><font color="#000000"> seasons and they seemed really short. Maybe I am spoiled here in Georgia. We have a nice long season for </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">deer hunting big bucks</font></a><font color="#000000">. We have a lot of whitetails and some really </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">big bucks</font></a><font color="#000000">. The season runs through the whitetail mating season. There may be a  little secondary rut activity where the season is closed, but for the most part our season is during the whole mating season. So there is a good chance of seeing some </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">big bucks</font></a><font color="#000000"> during the season. </font><a href="http://www.deerhuntingbigbucks.com/2008/02/09" title="About Deer Hunting Big Bucks"><font color="#000000">Deer hunting big bucks</font></a><font color="#000000"> can be a challenge. Having a nice long season to hunt sure makes a difference when trying to get that big boy. Also having a long season you get to hunt different food sources and the weather conditions can go from one extreme to another. I&#8217;ve rifle hunted in 95 degree weather and bow hunted when it was very cold. So what about where you hunt? Do you think your season is too long, too short, or just right?<!-- Kontera ContentLink(TM);--><br />
