I caught this buck on my Moultrie Game Spy
What did we ever do without the trail camera? This past year I was able to get some great Moultrie Game Spy pictures.
The Moultrie Game spy takes some really good quality deer pictures
Using a trail camera is a great way to help you pattern those big bucks movements. I witnessed that this first hand this year. I checked my Moultrie Game spy I had set up on a supplemental feeding area on November 13 around lunch and to my surprise there was a huge buck there that very morning. The wind wasn’t right for an afternoon hunt in the area but the next morning the wind was perfect to hunt that set and it all came together. Well all but one little detail, I missed the buck of a lifetime at 35 yards.
Moultrie Game Spy
The Moultrie Game Spy digital infared trail camera has been a great camera for me.
It wouldn’t even have happened if I hadn’t checked my Moultrie game spy. I wouldn’t have been there to miss the big boy. We didn’t have one single shot of this buck and had no clue he was in the area, but thanks to the Moultrie Game Spy(digital infrared) we new he had moved into the area. I just love seeing all the deer pictures captured on cameras every year. It is really addicting once you start using them to pattern big bucks activities where you hunt. I was really pleased with my new camera this past season and plan on buying another one soon. I was blown away how long the battery life was while using it. What is your favorite brand trail camera? There are so many out there and I have heard many different opinions on them. I think it is what you are comfortable using and what works for you (and whats affordable for you as well). I would like to have one of the nicer cameras you could check from you computer but that is part of the fun, getting out and checking them. If you lived very far from where you hunt it would be very nice to have one you could check from the computer, it would save a lot of time and gas money. It is amazing the technology that is involved in deer hunting. You can even get video of your favorite big bucks from your cameras. The image quality is unreal on some of the cameras out today. You can bet I’ll be using my cameras to help me figure out those big boys come the deer hunting season.
Trail camera pictures of big bucks like this one can be exciting.
So far I have had a wonderful year of deer hunting and have gotten some great trail camera pictures. Even though I missed the biggest buck I have ever shot at with a bow at 35 yards. How’s every-one’s deer hunting going this year?
Trail Camera Pictures
I’ve gotten a lot of really nice photos lately. How about you have you gotten any good trail camera pictures.
Photo of Kansas Buck in full rut I missed with my bow deer hunting the Kansas rut. And it is all on film so I can enjoy it whenever I want.
I got trail camera pictures the day before of a definite Pope and young buck that I previously didn’t have on trail camera. So needles to say I was fired up the next morning when we set out to our stands.
The Big Buck That Got Away
It was early November and the bucks are in rut in Kansas. About 8:55am my cameraman Terry of ChaseVideo.org called a few times and at 9:00am the big buck came off a hill coming to us and right away I knew it was the buck we got on trail camera the day before. And he looked much bigger in real life than he did in the trail cam pictures. We guess he will score from the mid 150’s to the mid 160’s. By far the biggest buck I have ever taken a shot at. When I saw him coming through the thick stuff I tapped Terry on the ankle and pointed to where the buck was coming. I have to admit I got buck fever and when the buck went behind some thick stuff at 35 yards I drew back and settled my 40 yard pin on him and let it fly the buck dropped immediately when he heard the string and my arrow went sailing over his back. I had just missed the buck of a lifetime. I rushed and took the first shot that I had, and should have waited and probably gotten a much better shot. And we got it all on film. The feeling I had at that moment was horrible. You get up at 4:30am when you would rather be sleeping. You work so hard checking trail cameras and scouting and putting up stands and then when the moment of truth finally comes which they don’t very often, and I blew it. Like Travis Tritt says in his song “this one’s gonna hurt you for a long long time”. If you are a bow hunter you will miss, but the biggest buck of my life with a bow and I get buck fever and take an Ill advised shot when I know better. Oh well I’m not giving up just yet.
Georgia Whitetail Hunting Success
Stephens Walton county buck he took deer hunting behind his house.
On a different note it looks like deer season is going well for a lot of my friends back in my home state of Georgia. They have been getting some big bucks down. My good buddy Stephen took his biggest buck to date this nice eight pointer.
This is the Dooley county buck Preston took.
And my good buddy Mac took his son Preston deer hunting in Greene county in Georgia and Preston got his biggest buck ever hunting out of a box stand in a clear cut. I know Mac was proud of Preston making a good shot on his biggest buck.
These are two Georgia bucks Robert killed.
Also my good buddy and fellow DHBB pro-staffer Troy sent me a picture of his good friend Robert’s two bucks he took in Georgia as well. It looks like them Georgia boys are taking care of business. I sure miss getting after those Georgia bucks but getting after these Kansas big boys isn’t so bad either.
A deer hunter can put the odds in his favor by using a trail camera to pattern a buck.
I received a picture this morning of a huge whitetail buck that would get any deer hunter fired up! I got a text this morning that was a trail camera picture of a huge whitetail buck and couldn’t believe my eyes. I bet they were happy to see this trail camera picture. This is one big whitetail buck.
This huge whitetail buck was caught on a trail camera on a 4000 acre farm in Missouri on a farm that is under QDM.
I don’t know what he will score but it has to be well over 200 inches.
Huge Whitetail Buck
Fellow Pro-Staff member Brad sent it to me and at first I thought it wasn’t real. He said this huge whitetail buck is on a 4,000 acre farm in Missouri that is under QDM. I’d say the QDM is working well for this farm. I am a member of the QDMA and if you would like to learn more you can click Quality Deer Management Association. I’d probably flat-line if this big boy came within bow range deer hunting. What do you think this stud will score? He has to be mid 200’s at least. I am amazed at some of the bruisers that are caught on game cameras every year. I’d like to be on the stand when this monster came by.
Well deer season opens here in Kansas on this coming Monday and I am pumped. Hopefully this year will be the one I put the smack down on one of these big Kansas studs. I am still searching for my first Pope & Young and I know there are quite a few of them roaming around here in Kansas. Has the season started where you are? I hope you all have a wonderful season.
