Deer Hunting Video Austin

I did a story a while back about a young man from Kansas named Austin and I thought you might like to watch this incredible hunt, it is an inspiring deer hunting video.

Deer Hunting Video

Watch this really cool deer hunting video. This past season Austin killed a nice 8 pointer with a crossbow. Austin is blind but he doesn’t let that stop him from getting out and enjoying the great outdoors deer hunting.

inspiring deer hunting video

This is the buck Austin took it is amazing deer hunting video.

My friend Terry has a not for profit organization that takes kids with disabilities and illnesses out to enjoy the great outdoors. I thought you might like to go by Terry’s website and see the video of Austin killing his buck. Terry takes the time and the effort to take these kids out that might not get the chance to go deer hunting otherwise. It is just nice to see .  Terry received an award this past year, it was the Streamlight challenged hunter of the year award. Even though Terry has cancer he still gets out and takes these kids to enjoy the great outdoors. That is awesome. So go by and check out his website and watch the video of Austin shooting a buck with his crossbow and some of the other videos he has of other kids as well. It is really a good thing Terry is doing for these kids.

On a different note if you are planting food plots this year have you got them planted? Just this past week in the mid-west I saw a lot of farmers planting. I got my garden planted about a week ago. It seemed  like the cold weather would never go away. It was a really rough winter here in the mid-west this year. I heard several reports of bucks being found shed hunting that didn’t make it through the harsh winter. Mother nature can be cruel. That’s why on the properties where I hunt I try to put out some corn when the conditions get really tough. This year I want to leave some standing corn and soybeans so late in the year when the snow is deep and food is scarce they will still have a food source to count on. I am going to talk to the land owners where I hunt to see how much it would cost me to leave some standing crops.

Deer Hunting Coyote Sunday Best

I was able to get a coyote in the front yard the other day, he wasn’t very smart. How’s your deer hunting going this year?

Buck Killed Deer Hunting Missouri

Deer Hunting Big Bucks is working on a story about this huge buck harvested in Missouri.

I am working on a story about this deer, and I wanted to tease you a little. Check out this brute! I’ll have the whole wonderful story and photos and a video to share in the next few days.

Yesterday, after church I got to go do a little deer hunting. I hunted a great looking spot on the edge of some real thick hardwoods and a big CRP field that meets a huge corn field. I have been deer hunting quite a bit this year but I haven’t seen a lot of deer. I am in a rut, no pun intended. Yesterday was no different, I didn’t see the first whitetail. I saw a bunch of pick-up trucks but no deer. I know that I am at a great spot from all the sign I am seeing, it is wore out with whitetail sign. I am making sure to take all the steps for scent control and using the wind in my favor it has just been tough for me seeing whitetails this year. I am frustrated but will not give up on this spot. Hopefully my luck will change, it just takes one hunt to score on one of those big bucks and change the whole season.

Last week my boys and I were outside and we saw some coyotes way down in the back of our pasture, so I went and got my video camera and filmed them.

I was planning on going to Cabelas and getting a predator call and filming myself calling them in and shooting them. My boys like to play outside and it kind of freaks me out having coyotes so close by. Then yesterday as was was getting ready for church and my wife says there is a coyote in the front yard. So I made a b-line to my deer rifle and got some shells and snuck 0ut the back door and eased around the front of the house. And about the time I saw him he saw me and decided it was time to leave but it was to late. Not to brag but I was an expert marksman in the Army and a moving coyote at 70 yards was no problem. My 7mm short mag did a number on him! It was the first time I have ever been hunting in my Sunday best.

This coyote wasnt very Wiley, I shot him in the front yard.

DHBB First Hunting Footage

I recently decided to start filming my hunts and trying to get some hunting footage. I have been waiting on a cable to be shipped so I could download them. The cable arrived today, and I figured out how to download them. So hopefully I can share some of my filmed hunts. My first video I downloaded is from an afternoon hunt the day after Thanksgiving. It’s short, and doesn’t have any big bucks in it, but I’m learning how to do it, and hopefully I will get better with it and the editing, the downloading, the filming hunts by myself, and all the details that make good hunting footage. I wish that I would have been doing all of this at the beginning of the season, most of the best hunting footage is when the deer rut.

I’ll try to get some better videos on here soon. Hopefully I can get some great hunting footage of some big bucks to share. We have several big deer on our club, I just hope to be able to share more filmed hunts this year especially if some of the does that were not bred come back into estrous making the big deer rut.

Hunting Footage

This morning I headed out to our club to do some deer hunting. I got there well before daylight and it was one of those mornings when I just couldn’t decide where to hunt. I finally chose a stand and got my gear ready and hit the woods. I took my camcorder in hopes of getting some good footage of some deer. It was in the upper twenties, and man it was cold. Right after daylight I caught movement coming through the pines, it was a deer and she had two fawns with her. I was able to get some good footage of them. I was hoping one of them would smell pretty for one of our big bucks. But that was not the case, they fed around for a while, but no big boys showed up. I hunted until about 10:00 a.m.

It was a great day to be in the woods, although I didn’t see any big deer. But I had to leave to go see my step-dad who is in the hospital with pneumonia. I had planned on hunting all day but I needed to go check on Pop, which is what my boys call him. He has had a rough week, but seems to be getting better. Get well Pop we hope you feel better soon. Next year maybe we can go hunting in Kansas like we have been talking about. A quick story about my step dad he harvested a beautiful trophy whitetail several years ago in Walton county in Georgia, and every time I tell him I’m going deer hunting, he asks me when are you going to get one bigger than him? As he is pointing to the monster buck hanging on his living room wall. One day Pop I’m going to get one bigger than him, hopefully, fingers crossed.

Using a tree stand gives this hunter a birds eye view to some great hunting footage.
